Description:Three issues of Forumosa [“Formosa”] were released, with the last one being published in June 1934. The magazine did not follow a conventional release schedule, and issues were released at irregular intervals. It was founded by Taiwanese students studying in Japan, who were also members of the Taiwanese Arts Association. Su Wei-hsiung served as the editor-in-chief, with Wang Pai-yuan, Wu Kun-huang, and Wu Yung-fu rounding out the editorial board. The magazine featured works of various genres but focused primarily on native-soil literature and socialistic ideas. In the “Inaugural Editorial” of the first issue, Su wrote, “What we long for is not only a politically and economically free life, but one filled with the arts. Our goal is to revive Taiwan’s flagging literature and arts scene. We will take concrete action to compile the island’s poor literary and artistic creations, and shed a light on local ballads and legends. We call on the Taiwanese youngsters to devote themselves to fostering the first literature and arts magazine by and for the Taiwanese people.”

其他說明:《フォルモサ》﹝福爾摩沙﹞共發行3期，至昭和9年（1934）6月停刊，刊期為不定期，由當時在日本東京組成「台灣藝術研究會」的台灣留學生所創辦，蘇維熊主編，王白淵、吳坤煌、巫永福等人為成員。作品風格多樣，其中包括對鄉土文學以及社會主義思潮等多有所關注。在創刊號的創刊詞中，同人表達了：吾人所渴望的除了政治上經濟上自由的生活，更要求藝術的生活，而吾人將重興萎靡的台灣文藝，在具體行動上將整理既有之貧弱的文藝作品，以及歌謠與傳說等鄉土藝術，更呼籲台灣青年諸君，以我們的全副心力創作真正的台灣純文藝。
