Description:1. In the nonfiction section is a 14-page excerpt from the article “A Tour of the Island Colony” by Haruo SATO. It was banned for publication in Taiwan by then, and could only be found in the mainland Japan’s version of the magazine.
2. Chuokoron is a catch-all magazine issued in Japan when Taiwan was under the Japanese governance (it is also Japan’s longest-running magazine, first released in 1887 and still in publication today). The magazine majorly publishes commentary on current (political) events, with a few columns dedicated to literary works. The archived issue features the series A Tour of the Island Colony by Haruo SATO (1892-1964), describing his three-month trip in Taiwan. The series is composed of 13 articles published across the span of 15 years and was later published as a collection. Despite writing from a colonizer’s perspective, Sato had gained recognition in the Taiwanese literary circles for his literary mastery.

其他說明:1.〈創作〉欄有〈殖民地の旅〉佐藤春夫著，共14頁。本文當時在台灣「発禁」，僅在日本刊出。
2.日治時期在日本所發行的期刊，也是目前日本發行最久的綜合雜誌（自1887年明治30年迄今），以時局評論為主，附有文學作品。本期刊登了佐藤春夫（1892-1964）的〈殖民地の旅〉一文，這是作者到台灣旅行約3個月，將所見所聞轉化為引人入勝的題材，文中不乏有殖民者的眼光，然佐藤春夫的文學技巧使其作品受台灣文壇矚目。此系列作品共13篇，費時約15年，陸續發表於雜誌上，並部份內容結集出版。
