Description:This elegy consists of seven poems describing the author’s pain and mourning after losing his wife. Each poem digs more deeply into his feelings than the previous one. In “Her Last Words,” the author sees in his wife's eyes that she doesn’t want him to be alone. In “Home,” the author grapples with the fact that he must sleep alone every night now that his “home” is without his wife. “Insomnia” causes the author to turn to “Drinking” to help himself sleep, only to wake up and see the “Black-and-White Portrait” of his wife hanging on the wall. He makes a “Vow” to himself that he will reunite with his wife in the next life, but for now, he can only say a “Prayer” that his kind-hearted wife will ascend peacefully to heaven.

摘要:本詩以七首組詩組成，分層漸進描寫失去妻子的苦痛與悼念之情。從〈遺言〉妻子將走前的眼神領悟到妻子放不下孤獨地自己，到少了妻子的〈家〉，每晚不成眠的〈失眠〉夜晚使我痛苦，只能借酒買〈醉〉以舒緩苦痛，但清醒後卻更難以承受看見妻子〈遺像〉痛徹心扉。只能與妻訂下來世再續緣的〈誓約〉，〈祈禱〉一生善良的妻安祥航向西天。（文／蔡宜珊）
