Description:By Hu Minxiang. Three sheets, the upper right corners bearing the author's signature and page number. At the end is the annotation "July 18, 1993, completed in western Pennsylvania during cicada season, North American" clearly indicating the completion date of this work. It is a prose piece handwritten entirely in Chinese characters in the Taiwanese language, 11 paragraphs in all. It recounts the author hearing the call of the cicada while in far away land, triggering a longing for home and friends, as well as memories of catching cicadas in his childhood. The text is replete with a sense of nostalgia. Featured in Moli Township Chronicles.
