Description:This book contains two novels written by Chinese novelist Yu Da-fu and translated into Japanese by Yang Kuei. The original Chinese and translated Japanese text are presented side by side, which is characteristic of publications of the time, as Taiwan was transitioning from a Chinese-speaking society to a Japanese-speaking one. Yu Da-fu was the only Chinese writer to visit Taiwan during the Japanese rule, and he had many literary exchanges with Taiwanese writers. According to researcher Huang Te-shih, Yu’s works, particularly this book, attracted quite a bit of attention in both Japan and Taiwan. Published before the Nationalist (KMT) Government imposed a strict ban on Japanese publications, its pocketbook size made it suitable for carrying around. This edition contains a preface and a foreword, “The Sino-Japanese Comparative Chinese Literature and Art Series” by Su Wei-hsiung and “Introduction to Mr. Yu Dafu” by Yang Kuei.

其他說明:本書收錄了中國作家郁達夫兩篇中文小說〈出奔〉、〈微雪的早晨〉，楊逵翻譯為日文，以中日對照的方式提供當時身處在語言轉換時期的民眾閱讀。郁達夫為日治時期唯一來台的中國作家，但與台灣知識分子有諸多交流，根據黃得時的研究，其作品在日本及台灣多受矚目，本書在國民政府尚未全部嚴禁日文之前出版，瘦長形開本，適合隨身攜帶。本書系有蘇維雄的〈中日對照中國文藝叢書發刊序〉以及楊逵執筆的〈郁達夫先生介紹〉一文。
