    • GDESC:性別：雌性成體，吻肛長：1173 mm，尾長：370 mm。浸液標本。
      過山刀最大約可達220公分，身體細長，頭小，眼大，體背面為橄欖綠帶褐色為底，背部中央及兩側有三條黃褐色縱帶，縱帶間則有黑褐色縱帶，尾細長，動作迅速；體中段鱗列數為14列。
      分布於臺灣本島1,500公尺以下地區。另中國西南和中南部地區也有分布。日行性，喜棲於山區的農墾地、長草生地、灌叢、次生林之邊緣等地區。卵生，產卵於春夏間，每窩約可產卵6～17枚，孵化期約需1個月。本種動作極為迅速，爬行時常會高舉頭部。以魚、蛙、蜥蜴、蛇、鳥、哺乳類等為食。
