    • GDESC:雌雄同體. 虹膜暗褐色， 嘴紅色， 腳紅或橙紅色， 習性為，獨居或雌雄同棲。成鳥體上大致栗紅色，背、翼及尾羽略具紫色光澤，下背至腰中央為銀藍色。體下棕橙色，喉及腹中央色澤較淺。幼鳥羽毛顏色黯淡，腹面色較淺且偏白，胸有不規則暗色斑紋。有紅寶石及紅翡翠之稱。單獨活動，停棲在闊葉林或灌木叢視野良好處，飛撲地面或水中的獵物，啄取後飛回棲處吞食。食物依棲地而定，在林地攝取昆蟲、蜥蜴，在水邊則吃魚、蟹及蛙。
      棲地介紹：林中溪流水塘、平地紅樹林、濕地和平原，至中海拔山區森林沼澤。
