  型態：家豬是被人類馴化後的亞種，獠牙及體毛均較野豬短。一般認為是全球各地分別將當地野豬馴化，並經過長達數千年歷史的雜交，品種繁多，是人類大量圈養的家畜、亦為食用肉品的主要來源之一。
  
  生態：除了供食用和作為寵物，豬在人類生命科學和生物科學中有特殊的價值。在所有動物中，豬的生理、生化、解剖、代謝、骨骼發育、心血管系統、消化系統等與人類最為接近，因此是醫學研究和人類異種器官移植的最佳供體，也是藥理、藥效等製藥方面理想的實驗動物。
  
  形質：家豬懷孕期約110-120天。
  
  標本資訊：本件為胚胎發育（發生）過程的酒精浸液標本，唯標本狀況不佳，胚胎顏色變得即深，部分已脫離原本位置落入瓶底。
