    • GDESC:保育等級：International Union for Conservation of Nature紅皮書中屬近危物種(Near Threatened)類別。

      型態：又稱歐亞水獺，毛皮呈深褐色，唇、喉、腹部呈淺灰色，絨毛濃密而柔軟，以保持乾燥與溫暖。

      生態：嘴邊生有觸覺用腮鬚，非常敏銳。半水棲肉食性動物，多在湖泊、溪畔活動，並在水邊的洞穴或樹洞築巢。善游泳與潛水，主要以魚類為食，也會覓食蝦蟹、蛙類或其他小型無脊椎動物。夜行性動物，但白天偶會出現。主要為獨居，領域性非常強，但雄性與雌性的領域可能重疊。過去曾分布於台灣本島中低海拔至沿海附近溪流，但因河川污染與棲地破壞，近年來以不見蹤跡，目前僅存金門有少數族群。

      形質：頭扁平而寬闊，脖子短，身體圓長，尾巴基部粗而末端細長，呈流線型善於水中活動。頭與軀幹長約60至80公分，尾巴長約30至50公分，體重5至15公斤。

      標本資訊：本標本吻肛長80公分，尾長46公分。乾燥保存。
