- GDESC:　　頭胸甲呈橫長卵圓形，甲面稍隆起，前半部明顯分小區，後半部較平滑。額略突出，前緣分兩葉，各葉外側緣內凹。前側緣含眼窩外齒共六齒。螫足粗壯，左右不等稱，腕節及掌節背、外側面呈皺襞狀，兩指內緣具2~4枚大小不等齒，指節末端呈匙形。步足背、腹緣具長剛毛。背甲黃褐至灰綠色，並雜有墨綠或鐵銹色斑點。螫足及步足指節黑色，其中不動指的黑色延伸至掌節腹面末部。本種螯足左右不等大，或左大或右大皆有之，螯指末端匙形，主要以刮取岩石上的藻類為食，螯指夾住人體時常久久不放。為有毒蟹類成員之一，具弱麻痺性貝毒。
  　　廣泛分布於印度－西太平洋各地海岸。於潮間帶珊瑚礁縫穴中或岩石下可發現，為常見種。
