- GDESC:標本體長約x公分。泛稱為臭蛙，但本種皮膚並無散發明顯氣味。體型會有海拔差異，高海拔族群的體型會較大。體背顏色變化很大，有純褐色或綠色，褐色底雜有綠斑，也有大面積綠斑的個體等。上唇白色，口角後有白色頷線。背側由斷斷續續的顆粒構成。指(趾)膨大成吸盤，有利於在流水環境活動。酒精浸泡標本體背褐色，鼓膜褐色不明顯；背側摺保留痕跡，但顆粒不明顯；腹面白色，下巴有些許斑點；四肢背面橫紋明顯。終年生活在溪澗附近，對繁殖地的依戀性很強。叫聲似鳥叫。以山區溪流或小溪澗為繁殖地點。卵成小堆產在淺水區域的石頭或落葉堆上。整年都會出現，繁殖季因地區而有差異。為台灣特有種，泛島分布。模式標本地在台灣南部。(巫奇勳撰)
