    • GDESC:保育等級：International Union for Conservation of Nature紅皮書中屬低危物種(Least Concern)類別。

      型態：台灣特有亞種，頭背部為棕赤褐色，臉部、胸與腳掌為白色，故名之。頭大、臉圓，眼睛也大而圓，吻部突出。飛膜從前肢延伸到後肢踝關節處，皮膜展開時可於樹與樹之間遠距滑翔移動，又尖又彎的爪子則能輕巧在樹上爬行。

      生態：棲息於中、高海拔闊葉林或針葉林中。夜行性動物，白天多於樹洞中休息，夜晚才出外活動覓食，雜食性，以嫩葉、球果、小型昆蟲等為食物。多半獨行，僅母鼠在哺育時才會帶著幼鼠活動。

      形質：身長35至43公分，尾長44至51公分。

      標本資訊：本件標本吻肛長44公分，尾長57公分，乾燥保存。
