蔣中正總統所使用的轎椅，一般他都自己步行，只有少數地方，譬如在復興鄉之八結、三民、角板山一帶，因地勢不平，車輛亦無法通過，因此以轎椅代步。在日月潭往慈恩塔，以及從埔里到盧山，亦偶而曾使用。最後一次是在八旬高齡時登太武山所乘坐。

President Chiang had used this sedan chair before. Usually, he went on a trip afoot. Only in a few places, such as Bajie, Fuxing Township; Sanmin; and Mt. Jiaoban he had to ride the sedan chair, because of uneven terrains that a vehicle could not pass over. When he took his trips from Sun Moon Lake to Tsen Pagoda, or from Puli to Lu Shan, he occasionally went for a ride on the sedan chair. The last time he rode the sedan chair was at the age of eighty when he was on his way to Taiwu Mountain.
