Introduction:The didjeridu is strongly associated with the spiritual world of indigenous Australian communities, but has become well known across the world today through its use in modern spiritual movements.
This simply constructed instrument is made from a tree trunk that has been hollowed out by termites. Its sound is produced by a wave of vibrating air, created by the way the players move their lips as they blow, resonating inside the instrument. This is also the principle behind brass instruments. The didjeridu’ long length means that the air resonates at low frequencies, which results in a very long and distinctive low note.
