Introduction:The Lambert typewriter features a unique circular keyboard and a distinctive typing method. It was developed and patented by Frank Lambert, a French immigrant to the United States.

There are three models of Lambert typewriters, and this one is the Lambert No.2. On the left side of the keyboard, there is a lever that functions like a shift key, allowing the user to type capital letters and numbers. When one of the raised letters on the circular keyboard is pressed down, the disk will pivot at the corresponding angle and move the stylus underneath to imprint the selected letter onto the paper. As a result, the Lambert typewriter is often mistaken for an index typewriter.

However, even though Frank Lambert obtained the patent of the typewriter in 1884, it was not until 1902 that the Lambert typewriter was commercially available. By that time, it was considered an already outdated product in terms of typing efficiency.
