Introduction:Spots and patterns on fur are important characteristics to distinguish panthers. Leopards have densely arranged thick black hollow patterns that look like flowers on their bodies called rossettes. Jaguars have black dots in the middle of their rossettes, while cheetahs have filled black spots on their fur.

The leopard's body changes colors according to its habitats. Leopards living in desert typically have a yellowish coat, while plains leopards have dark yellow coats. Melanism sometimes occurs among leopards, where melanin largely appears in their skin and fur. Such leopards are commonly called black panthers, but their spots can still be seen.

Leopards are nocturnal, resting during the day, and are known for their ability to climb and often rest in trees. Shade from trees and the pattern of leopards' fur interact in such a way that makes for the perfect camouflage. Although the prey can weigh up to three times their body weight, leopards are still able to carry it in their mouth up to trees six meters high, which is primarily done to avoid other carnivores such as lions or hyenas from stealing their food.
