Description:This photograph of Lin Hai-yin (right, in the white cheongsam) and her husband Ho Fan taken at an angle was donated to the museum by Beatrice Lee’s estate. Lin was an influential writer and editor in Taiwan, and her husband, Ho, was a newspaper editor, essayist, and translator. The two married in 1939 and moved to Taiwan in 1949 with the Nationalist government. Ho became the president and publisher of Mandarin Daily News while Lin served as editor-in-chief of the literary section of United Daily News. She also founded Belles-Lettres Publishing, which played an important role in the development of Taiwan literature. Lin and Lee were neighbors and close friends. Lin once wrote, “Beatrice Lee and I are not only literary friends but also neighbors and great friends. Everyone in my family knows everyone in her family, and vice versa.”
It is speculated that the photo was taken in the 1960s–70s and was gifted to Lee from Lin as a token of their friendship.

摘要:本件藏品為琦君家屬所捐贈，為林海音與何凡的合照照片。右邊白色旗袍者為林海音，左起何凡，照片以斜角呈現。林海音為臺灣重要作家、編輯，其夫何凡為報社編輯、散文家及譯者，兩人於1939年結婚，1949年來臺，何凡進入《國語日報》工作，當到社長與發行人；林海音則曾擔任《聯合報》副刊主編、創辦純文學出版社，對推動臺灣的文學有極大貢獻。林海音與琦君私交甚篤，兩家住得近，林海音曾說：琦君和我，不但是寫作上的朋友，我們兩家常相來往，也是家庭的朋友。這張照片應為林海音贈與，拍攝年代推測為1960-70年代。（文／陳佳琦）

其他說明:1. 琦君（1917-07-24/2006-06-07），本名潘希珍，臺灣文學重要作家，創作文類包含散文、論述、小說、兒童文學、翻譯、詞論等。著名作品有散文集《煙愁》、《細雨燈花落》、《留予他年說夢痕》、《桂花雨》、小說《橘子紅了》等。
2. 林海音（1918-04-28/2001-12-01），原名林含英，出生於日本大阪，原籍新竹州竹南郡頭分街（今苗栗縣頭份鎮），北平世界新聞專科學校畢業。曾任《國語日報》特約編輯、《聯合報》副刊主編，1968年「純文學出版社」。著有：《冬青樹》、《城南舊事》、《金鯉魚的百襉裙》等。
3. 何凡（1910-12-22/2002-12-21），本名夏承楹，記者、散文作家與譯者，曾任《聯合報》主筆；亦曾擔任臺灣省國語推行委員會委員、《文星》雜誌主編、《國語日報》社長與發行人。其妻為林海音。
