民國49年10月31日旅菲潮州會館暨全體理監事贈送蔣中正總統七十七歲誕辰禮品。金邊相框，底面為紅色絨布，上以金箔貼「萬壽無疆」四字，上款為「恭祝--蔣大總統七秩晉七華誕」，下款為「旅菲潮洲會館--暨全體理監事—同祝」。
會館，是清初移民以原籍地緣關係為中心的結合團體，遍布世界各地，因此有「有海水的地方就有華人，有華人的地方就有宗鄉會館」之說，潮州會館，是以方言區為單位所形成的組織，由講潮州話的廣東汕頭、普甯、揭陽、潮安、潮陽、澄海、饒平、惠來諸縣市人士組成，在香港、泰國、新加坡、馬來西亞、越南、柬埔寨，甚至遠及美國、加拿大、法國各地都有潮州會館的設立。菲律賓潮州會館成立於1941年，設於馬尼拉。
民國49年蔣中正總統74歲，10月31日壽誕當日並未在官邸或總統府舉辦活動，而是親赴金、馬各外島第一線巡視，一方面代表避壽，另一方面亦借以提升前線士氣。

All directors, supervisors, and members of the Teochew Association in the Philippines presented the plate to celebrating Chiang Kai-shek's 77th birthday. The plate with golden frame is overlaid with red velvet and on the red velvet, with gilding of quotes "Very Many Happy Returns of the Day." congratulations expression "To President Chiang, Wish you a Happy 77th Birthday," and the signature "Respectfully, Teochew Association in the Philippines, all directors, supervisors, and members." The frame of the plate is ornamented with gold patterns.

A county guildhall in the Qing dynasty was an association formed by a group of immigrants shared with common geopolitical origins. Chinese county guildhalls spread all over the world; hence, "Wherever there is seawater, there are Chinese; Wherever there are Chinese, there are clan associations and county guildhalls." A Teochew Association is an organization formed by local natives who speak Chaozhou dialect, including people from counties in Guangdong, such as Shantou, Puning, Jieyang, Chao'an, Chaoyang, Chenghai, Raoping, Huilai, etc. Teochew Associations can be found in the cities in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, even as far as the United States, Canada, and France. Teochew Association in the Philippines was established in Manila in 1941.

Chiang Kai-shek was 74 on October 31, 1960. He did not stay in his residence or President Office on his birthday, but went to the front line, such as Kinmen, Matsu, and other outer islands, to eschew the celebration and instead, to enhance frontline's morale.
