民國43年5月20日臺灣省農會賀蔣中正總統連任中華民國行憲後第二屆總統所呈獻之銀質獎盃,龍形把手,盃身正反皆有刻文,正面為「民族救星」,上款「恭祝蔣中正總統膺選連任就職大典」下款為「臺灣省農會敬獻」,反面詳刻有台灣省農會概況與光復以來臺灣糧食增產數字,極有歷史價值。
盃內另有一木片,上寫「43年第二屆總統就職大典各界呈獻禮物總統府送來總編號70號臺灣省農會獻銀盃壹座43年12月收存」,盃座下櫬有桃紅色緞面,上有製作廠商「榮安銀樓精製」。
台灣光復後,民國35年4月20日在台北市召開台灣省農業會第一屆第一次會員代表大會,成立台灣省農會,民國38年中華民國政府遷台以後,極為重視農業發展,積極促進農會組織,同時推動三七五減租、耕者有其田,至民國43年,臺灣糧食米增產已達民國35年的兩倍(民國35年894,021公噸,民國43年1,760,000公頓),是台灣經濟發展的基礎。民國43年4月台灣省農會舉行第二屆會員代表大會,選出理事長林寶樹,常務監事謝克昌,總幹事馬有岳,其時正逢中華民國行憲後第二任總統選舉,蔣中正總統連選連任,因此會中決議以此方式呈獻農會與台灣農民的感戴(台灣省農會第二屆會員代表大會紀錄)。
Taiwan Provincial Farmers' Association presented the silver trophy to the celebration of President Chiang's continuance in office on May 20, 1954. The trophy is sided by twin dragon-shaped handles. Inscriptions are on the front and the back. The obverse is inscribed with the words "The Savior of the Nation" dedicated to "The Inauguration of President Chiang Kai-shek's Continuance in Office," and presented by "Respectfully, the members of Taiwan Provincial Farmers' Association." An overview of the association and figures grain production since the retrocession of Taiwan are listed on the reverse. This trophy is highly valuable historically.
A wood chip left in the bowl with the words read: "Gift Item No. 70, a silver trophy, presented by Taiwan Provincial Farmers' Association at 1954 Presidential Inauguration. Gifts from all circles received and kept at Office of the President, December 1954." The trophy is set on a base lined with cherry-red velvet and engraved with maker's name "Rongan Jeweler."
After the retrocession of Taiwan, the first session of the Taiwan Provincial Congress of Agriculture was held in Taipei city, on April 20, 1946, and established the association. After ROC central government re-located to Taiwan, the government attached great importance to agricultural development and actively promoted the establishment of the Farmers' Association, while launching the policy of the 37.5% Arable Rent Reduction Act and Land-to-the-Tiller Act. In 1954, grain production in Taiwan reached twice as many as the production in 1946 (894,021 metric tons in 1946, and 1,760,000 metric tons in 1954), which was the basis for the future economic development in Taiwan. The association's President, Lin Baoshu; Standing Supervisor, Xie Kechang; and Secretary-general, Ma Youyue were elected in the second session of the Taiwan Provincial Congress of Agriculture in April 1954. The event coincided the second constitutional president election of the Republic of China, and Chiang Kai-shek was re-elected for the second term. Therefore, a resolution was reached in the association's congress to present farmers' gratitude (according to the congress' minutes).
