民國55年10月31日為蔣中正總統八秩華誕之日，且蔣中正總統於是年5月就任第四任總統。該項郵票1元面值者為蔣中正總統玉照，10元票面者以蔣中正總統著戎裝揮手像為圖案。

President Chiang Kai-shek's 80th birthday was on October 31, 1966, and he assumed his 4th presidency in May the same year. Therefore, postal stamps of the portrait of President Chiang Kai-shek were produced in color photogravure. The stamps of Chiang Kai-shek's portrait came in NT$1 denomination. And the stamps with an image of Chiang Kai-shek dressed in military uniform waving his hand came in NT$5 denomination.
