Jin Qin-Bo (1910-1998), originally from Wuxing, Zhejiang, was born in Shanghai and was a renowned Taiwanese traditional painter. His great-uncle, Jin Cheng, a famous Beijing painter, was his first mentor. In 1921, on the recommendation of his great-uncle, he joined the Chinese Painting Study Association and graduated in 1926. After the death of Jin Cheng, he was guided by Chen Shi-Zeng and joined the Lake Society Art Association. He was admitted to the Biology Department and Institute of Yenching University, and later studied abroad at the University of London. He moved to Columbia University in the United States to pursue a Ph.D., but returned to China due to the war against Japan. He moved to Shanghai and simultaneously taught the Chinese painting course at the Shanghai Fine Arts School. In 1946, Jin traveled to the United States again, and after the political change on the mainland, he moved from Shanghai to Taiwan. He taught in the art department of Taiwan Provincial Normal College and co-founded the "Lishui Jingshe" Painting Society with Hu Nian-Zu and Sun Jia-Qin. He served as a judge for the provincial exhibition and as an adjunct professor at the Chinese Culture University and the National Art School. He participated in the Sino-Japanese Joint Painting Exhibition in Japan, won a gold medal in the exhibition held by the Lake Society Art Association at the French Embassy in 1930, and received awards in the Chinese painting section of the provincial exhibition after moving to Taiwan. He held numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, and held his first solo exhibition at Zhongshan Hall in Taipei in 1954. He later served as an exchange professor in the United States, held exhibitions, lectured, and held a solo exhibition at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and participated in a group exhibition in Berlin with Huang Jun-Bi and Yao Meng-Gu, among others. He has also published several collections of his paintings.

Born into an artistic family, Jin Qin-Bo had a keen interest in painting from an early age, excelling in flowers, feathers and landscapes. His painting style was detailed and elegant, adept at portraying the spirit of flowers and birds. He inherited the orthodox skills of the "Jing Dynasty Painting School" from the early Republic of China, which earned him the title of "the foremost person in the academy-style flower and bird meticulous painting style". He was considered the legitimate heir of the painting style in Taiwan.

This work, a bright landscape, inherits the literary painting heritage of the Southern School of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a careful and meticulous brush technique. The composition adopts the format of both banks of a river from the Yuan and Ming dynasties, infused with realistic sketching methods, depicting the leisurely scene of a fisherman rowing on a clear lake by a willow bank.
