177.5×45.5(framed)
Ryugensai Taiho (1940- ) was the president of the All-Japan Calligraphy Association from 2006 to 2014. Back in 2008, the Association co-organized the "Taiwan-Japan Cultural Exchange Calligraphy Exhibition" with National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall in April. This painting was donated to the office by Ryugensai Taiho, who signed a donation statement on behalf of the Association. In the 2010 annual review on March 9, the office decided to include the painting in its collection. Ishikawa Tori, whose information is not available, is described as the painter of the work and a representative of Tokyo in the "Collection of Works of Taiwan-Japan Cultural Exchange Calligraphy Exhibition."
This oriental painting depicts lively butterflies dancing to blooming flowers and is inscribed with "Keifu Kiyoshi (Breeze from Nature)." One of the painting's highlights is the orchids, which showcase different stages of life, from budding to full bloom. The artist chose ink to depict the butterflies; some are resting on the flowers, some flying closer to the viewers, adding a diverse dynamic to the painting.
The All-Japan Calligraphy Exhibition was first held in 1973 and received support from Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to present the Prime Minister's Award, the Governor's Award for each prefecture, and the Title Award for local newspapers, emphasizing the correlation between the art of calligraphy and painting throughout history. In 2014, the exhibition was renamed "Japan International Exhibition," which serves to align with its international fundraising development strategy.
