王世利(1965- )，遼寧人，畢業於遼寧師範美術系、中央美術學院國畫系。王世利為黃河壺口瀑布繪畫創作代表性人物。2006年在黃河壺口中國提名展上獲得第一名，並被評為21世紀最具影響力的畫家。十餘年間數十次赴黃河實地體驗生活，創作了大量黃河作品，形成了獨樹一幟的繪畫風格，曾說「觀摩黃河塑胸中丘壑，融化古今繪筆下太行，雄健豪邁注黃河雄風，詩意情懷人間澗密林。」為其多年寫照，創立了獨立的黃河畫派，作品多次參加中國美術協會主辦的全國重要大型展覽。
黃河壺口瀑布系列創作為王世利多次親臨黃河的作品，作者使用各家斧劈皴技法於本作，矗立在壺口瀑布的岩石群表現出堅硬剛強之感，黃河湍急的水流傾瀉而下時撞擊岩石的激起的水花，掀騰的巨浪，運用重重暈染，將黃河磅礡的水量帶出質感，由於黃河夾沙量高達每立方水米37公斤的沙土，因此在分次堆疊暈染時作者特別忠實地使用大量赭黃類顏料繪黃河河水，雖有別於一般山川的繪製方式，黃河之水的特別，王世利用多年獨到的觀察、經驗，將「華夏巨龍」的型態，動態、肌理重現。
王世利重視寫生，作品意象簡潔，作品內容多帶有情感，將自己的形式、符號，注入對於鄉土、自然、文化的情懷，將生命力再現於紙上，充滿濃厚的當代詩意。(501字)

Wang Shi-Li (1965-), hailing from Liaoning, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Liaoning Normal University and the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Wang is a representative figure in painting the Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River. In 2006, he won first place in the China Nomination Exhibition for the Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River and was recognized as one of the most influential painters of the 21st century. Over the span of more than a decade, he has visited the Yellow River numerous times to experience life firsthand, creating a vast body of work that showcases his unique painting style. He once said, "Observing the Yellow River carves mountains and valleys into my heart, blending ancient and modern techniques to paint the Taihang Mountains. The heroic and vigorous spirit of the Yellow River, combined with poetic sentiments, is captured in the dense forests of humanity." This has been his artistic statement for many years, and he established an independent Yellow River painting school. His works have been featured in numerous major national exhibitions organized by the China Artists Association.
The Hukou Waterfall series is a result of Wang Shi-Li's multiple visits to the Yellow River. In these works, he employs various axe-cut techniques to depict the rock formations standing at the Hukou Waterfall, conveying a sense of hardness and strength. The turbulent waters of the Yellow River, crashing against the rocks and creating splashes and waves, are vividly rendered using layered washes to capture the river's immense volume. Given that the Yellow River carries up to 37 kilograms of sand per cubic meter of water, Wang faithfully uses a significant amount of ochre pigments to depict the river's waters, a technique distinct from typical landscape painting. Through years of unique observation and experience, Wang Shili has masterfully recreated the dynamic form, texture, and movement of the "Great Dragon of China."
Wang Shi-Li places great emphasis on sketching from life, creating works that are both simple in imagery and rich in emotion. He infuses his personal style and symbols with a deep affection for his homeland, nature, and culture, bringing vitality to paper and imbuing his work with a strong sense of contemporary poetry.
