尺寸:90x173x3(含框)
This collaborative painting was created by members of the "Sande Art and Culture Club," including Kuan Ta-Chin, Tai Wu-Kuang, Li Yuan-Hai, and Fan Chien-Hai. The club members share a passion for promoting arts and culture and are skilled in various media, such as calligraphy, ink painting, bamboo carving, and glass art, spanning both Eastern and Western techniques.
The backgrounds and specialties of the collaborators are as follows: Tai Wu-Kuang (1943-), from Hsinchu, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of National Taiwan Normal University. He studied under masters such as Lin Yu-Shan, Huang Jun-Bi, and Li Ze-Fan and excels in both Eastern and Western painting, particularly modern ink painting. His works have received awards in provincial exhibitions, and he has served as a judge multiple times. Dai advocates for incorporating design and Western painting perspectives into ink painting, developing new possibilities for modern ink art through innovative composition. Li Yuan-Hai (1948-), from Miaoli, studied under Lingnan School painters Wan Yu-Qi and Yang Shan-Shen. He has repeatedly won the Ministry of Education Grand Prize at the China-Japan Art Exhibition and has held several joint exhibitions with Fan Chien-Hai. Fan Chien-Hai (1953-), also from Miaoli, studied under Yang Shan-Shen. Both Fan and Li are members of the Tangmo Painting Association and are heavily influenced by the Lingnan School. Kuan Ta-Chin (1954-), from Hsinchu, specializes in calligraphy, painting, and seal carving. He studied under Cai You, Zhou Cheng, and Wu Ping. He has won first prizes in Chinese and Japanese calligraphy and painting competitions and has held solo exhibitions in Japan multiple times.
This ink painting depicts a serene landscape of ancient pines and waterfalls, with birds singing in the empty valley. The collaborative work follows the ancient tradition of "elegant gatherings," where each artist contributes their strengths, harmoniously complementing each other to achieve a balanced composition. From the styles and brushwork, it appears that the left-side rocks were painted by Kuan Ta-Chin; the magpies and calligraphy, known for their expertise in depicting birds, by Tai Wu-Kuang; and the right-side rocks and pine tree trunks, with their robust and vigorous Lingnan style brushwork, by Fan and Li. Combining the efforts of all four artists, the piece conveys a rich and dynamic visual beauty.
