Description:Xu Bingding had a passion for traditional opera and in 1945 he founded the first postwar Taiwan Beijing Opera Troupe—The Tainan, “Tiannan Pingju Opera Troupe.” At the end of 1948 the Beijing Opera diva Dai Qixia came to Taiwan at the invitation of the Taipei “New People’s Theater” and appeared on stage on March 23, 1949 at the Tainan Theater, where she played for 34 consecutive days. Xu Bingding was full of admiration. In addition to publishing “On Dai Qixia” in the press, he wrote and sang a ballad for her, “Beautiful Woman.” With this, a great boom in Tainan for Chinese opera troupes visiting Taiwan from the mainland was born.
This “Brief Biography” begins with Dai Qixia’s background and origins and then tells the story of her difficult life. According to Xu, Dai at the time of her visit had already joined the Air Force’s Dapeng Theater Company and had performed in the Rural Education Film Company’s Rose Among Thorns (Junzhong fangcao). From this we can surmise that the “Brief Biography” was completed sometime after 1952.

摘要:此文敘述了戴紀霞的生平紀事。從戴幼年身世坎坷，無父親照顧，跟隨母親，並參與戲劇演出；母親死後，便努力演出展露頭角，聲名大噪。此文一直記錄到戴綺霞來台南表演，之後又定居於台北，推動以平劇藝術「軍民合作」，愛國又愛戲。此篇內文強烈主觀，感情豐富，對戴抱有感嘆、同情之心，且對她讚譽有加。（文／朱英韶）

2.對傳統戲曲情有獨鍾的許丙丁，在1945年便創立戰後台灣第一個本土京劇社團──台南天南平劇社。1948年底，京劇名伶戴綺霞應台北「新民戲院」之邀來台，1949年3月23日於台南戲院登場，連演34天；許丙丁讚賞不已，除在報刊發表〈談戴綺霞〉，更為其創作歌謠《漂亮你一人》獻唱，並於全成戲院與她合演《新紡棉花》，在台南掀起大陸來台劇種的熱潮。這篇〈小傳〉從戴綺霞出身背景寫起，記敘其飄零坎坷的身世際遇；根據作者所述，彼時戴氏已加入空軍大鵬劇團，並演出農教影片公司電影《軍中芳草》，由此可約略推測其成文時間應為1952年之後。
