Description:Inscribed by Wu Yung-fu as a gift to Hsieh Kuo-cheng, this calligraphy artwork features a congratulatory acrostic quatrain written vertically that reads, “Your father Hsieh Lai-hsuan is a poetic genius / You continued his legacy by becoming a legislator of the Kuo [“country”] / You assisted the Cheng [“founding”] of Taiwan Cooperative Bank Baseball Team / Hsiung [“Brother”], it is you who zealously popularized the sport in Taiwan.” Wu incorporated the four characters “Hsieh, Kuo, Cheng, and Hsiung” as the starting word for each line to glorify Hsieh’s remarkable contributions to the development of baseball in Taiwan.

摘要:本筆資料為作者致贈謝國城先生之墨蹟，該作為直式書寫，文字內容：「謝父籁軒詩秀才 國之立委繼開來 城就金庫而保險 兄唱棒球風氣開」，作者將「謝國城兄」四字鑲嵌於四句句首，內容讚賞謝國城對提倡棒球運動的貢獻。（文／歐人鳳）
