Description:A lüshi (7-character, 8-line rhymed verse) composed by writer-calligrapher Wu Man-sha. In the center of the paper is a crease. Created by Wu on his 80th birthday as sentiments on his entire life, the poem translates into, “Born proud and ignorant of woes, a sea-dwelling herring gull warbles / Though challenges abound, I confront them in good health, my will to perfect the art of poetry still strong / I am joyfully surrounded by my children and grandchildren, and my house is half-filled with books / My life-long aspiration is a peaceful world where I may live in secluded forests and springs.” At its end is written “Sentiments on 80 years of life.” His signature is affixed in the bottom left corner.

摘要:本件藏品為作家吳漫沙的墨蹟一幅，紙張中間有一道折痕。本件藏品為作者於其八十歲時，以七言形式抒發其人生所感而作，內容為「天生傲骨不知愁，海上棲遲締鷺鷗。世路艱危身尚健，詩心磨鍊志堪酬。瓞綿今喜稱三代，書積殊欣擁半樓。托跡林泉成夙願，江山無恙仕優游。」，文末備註「八十初度書懷」，並於作品左下方落款。（文／歐人鳳）

其他說明:1. 吳漫沙（1912-07-15/2005-11-10），本名吳丙丁，筆名有B.S.、曉風、林靜子等。1937年自福建來台定居，曾擔任《風月報》、《南方》等雜誌編輯，戰後擔任記者。文學創作以中文書寫，文學形式廣及論述、詩、散文、小說、戲劇等，其中以婚戀小說受到歡迎，內容多描寫男女青年戀愛因家庭反對，為愛情犧牲的故事，劇情扣合當時代的社會氛圍，著有《大地之春》、《黎明之歌》、《韭菜花》等作，為日治時期著名的通俗小說家。
