Description:Hsieh Chao-hua’s 27-line poem starts with “When I grow old….” In the first two stanzas, the author writes of her recognition that her wrinkly legs, droopy eyes, and hoarse voice are no longer as enticing as “strawberries in the wild.” The third paragraph describes an abstract conversation between the author and her younger self as if the two sat opposite each other, debating the meaning of life against the ever-flowing river of time, evidenced by the rising and falling sun and the changing night sky. The final two lines read, “Even in the final hours of the night / You continue to tug at my heartstrings,” reiterating her deep longing for love despite her aging physical form.

摘要:本筆資料共計27行。首兩段以「當我老時」作為開頭，描寫衰老的雙腳、雙眼以及聲音，皮膚不再如「野草莓」般誘人。第三段轉為抽象的描寫，詩中的「我」與年少的自己對坐，思考歲月對於自身的意涵，以落日、星空等自然景觀形容歲月的流逝。詩末，作者描述在夜晚時刻，「依然深深觸動／我心底的舊弦」，顯示雖然身體老去，內心深處的情感仍永保不變。（文／蕭亦翔）

2.稿紙右上方註記「藍星」，為投稿《藍星詩刊》之詩作。刊載於《藍星詩刊》第三十二號（1992.7），頁42-43。
3.本詩原題為「我是如此描述肉體的衰老」，後於標題右側寫上新題「野草莓」。
