Description:This calligraphy artwork features a ode by Wu. It reads, “A man in his 50s and 60s is a budding flower / A man in his 70s and 80s is in his prime / A man in his 90s is summoning the spirits of his ancestors / Not until 100 is he set to depart with a smiling face.” Wu believes that one’s life begins at the age of 50, and people’s prime is not reached until in their 70s. The ode conveys the author’s positive outlook on life.
