Description:Created by Chung Chao-cheng in April of 2005, this calligraphy artwork written in running script features Tang Dynasty poet Cui Shu’s lushi (7-character, 8-line rhymed verse) titled Hiking Up the Wangxian Pavilion on the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month to Visit with County Magistrate Liu Rong, which reads, “Emperor Wen of Han built this high-rise pavilion that we’re hiking up to at the break of dawn. The clouded mountains face north, while the wind and rain are coming from the east. Today, the original Hangu Pass officer’s name, is no longer known, and Master Heshang Gong is long gone. Why not visit Magistrate Peng who lives nearby so that we can drink chrysanthemum wine to our hearts’ content?”
