Description:This photograph of (left-right) Beatrice Lee, Hsia Tsu-li, and Lin Hai-yin (Hsia’s mother) standing in front of a fence was donated to the museum by Lee’s estate. Hsia is Lin’s second daughter and was known affectionately as Mimi by Lin’s friends, including Lee, with whom Hsia developed a special fondness. Lee and Lin became best friends through their shared interest in writing after both moved to Taiwan in 1949 with the Nationalist government. In My Greatest Love is Mother Nature, Lin wrote, “Every time Beatrice visits us at home, my daughters rush to serve her a plate of melon seeds. They then sit by her feet and listen intently to the fantastical stories “Auntie Lee” has to tell.” Hsia would later become a magazine editor and publisher. She edited Her Worlds, a collection of works by feminist writers including Lee. Lee herself took pride in witnessing Hsia’s transformation from a playful little girl to a serious journalist and editor.

摘要:本件藏品為琦君家屬捐贈，為琦君與林海音母女之合照。照片由左至右為琦君、夏祖麗、林海音，三人立於圍牆前合影。夏祖麗為林海音次女，媽媽的朋友們都暱稱她為咪咪，琦君更與口中的「咪咪」十分親近。琦君和林海音兩人於1949年來臺後即因寫作結識，私交甚篤，林海音曾於〈一生兒愛好是天然〉中回憶：每次琦君來家裡，女兒們就會端茶拿瓜子，然後搬個竹凳坐在她腳下，聽潘阿姨說故事。夏祖麗後來曾任雜誌編輯，也出版過許多文集，選編包含琦君在內的女作家作品，輯成《她們的世界》一書。而琦君也曾記述對夏祖麗蛻變為採訪認真的寫作者的深刻印象。（文／陳佳琦）
