Description:Inscribed by Wu Yung-fu as a gift to Cheng Chiung-ming in celebration of the publication of his poetry collection Songs of Yam, this calligraphy artwork features an inscription of the book’s title “Fan Shu Chih Ko” (songs of the yam), written horizontally from right to left. To the right is a note that reads, “In celebration of Mister Cheng Chiung-ming’s poetry collection being published.”

Translator’s note: It is said that the island of Taiwan is shaped like a yam. Cheng Chiung-ming’s The Songs of Yam is a collection of poems of the Taiwanese nationalist sentiment.
