Description:This artwork consists of a round-shaped landscape painting and an inscription in running script by calligrapher-painter Chen Ding-shan. The inscription describes the reason for this gift. Chen explains that his foot injury had kept him bound to his domicile in the mountains, and that he gifted this piece as an apology for his absence. The inscription reads, “After a three-day trip, I was very happy. But upon returning home, I fell ill and had to stay in the mountains. I could not attend the banquet you invited me to, my literary friend. I surely deserve a punishment by a group of Bodhisattvas from the Baoji Temple for inciting their jealousy when they heard the news. I have created these two small paintings and an inscription as commemoration, and it would be particularly wonderful to write a poem on it. Hereby presented by Ding-shan.” In the margins are inscriptions that read, “Brother Wen-chi to Sister Shu-han” and the painter’s seal affixation. The painting shows hills surrounding a lake, with houses to the left and boats in the lake on the right. On the hills are well-proportioned pine trees and shrubs. In the upper margin is a poem by Peng Chun-shi, which reads, “After the two-day elegant sight-seeing tour / We deliberately lingered across the mountains and rivers / When we returned, we made our own Qi Wan fans [“circular, rigid paper fans”] / And shared with each other the spring scenery (Inscription by Peng Chun-shi).” The painter’s signature reads “Spring Mountain Companion, gifted to Sister Shu-han by Ding-shan.” Both the inscription and the Ink wash painting are affixed Chen’s seals.

摘要:本件藏品為書畫家陳定山創作，包含一幅行書字帖與一幅圓形的山水畫，字帖部分由陳定山描寫題字與贈墨梗概，大致說明因自身足疾發作而坐臥山中，未能赴文友邀約故以圖畫贈墨致歉表示紀念，內文為：「三日清遊殊多逸興，歸來足疾大發至今臥坐山中，文友邀宴皆不能赴，當是寶積寺一行菩薩示罰觸她妒羨耳。寫奉二小畫一贈黛文一留紀念，乞醇老再題一詩於上尤為佳妙矣，定山上言。」落款寫：「漱菡弟弟文几」並有鈐印；另外，圓形圖畫部分描繪山丘湖畔的景色，左側有屋舍，右側湖中有扁舟，山丘上繪有松樹與灌木，錯落有致，畫面上方有彭醇士題寫：「二日清游興未闌，溪山刻意共盤桓，歸來自製齊紈扇，分與春光一半看。彭醇士，製為寫」，落款有陳定山題字：「春山伴侶定山為漱菡女弟作」，字帖與水墨畫部分皆有「定山」鈐印。（文／高維志）

其他說明:1.陳定山（1897/1987）原名蘧，字小蝶，號定山居士，為舊文學家陳栩園長子，女畫家陳小翠之兄。長詩文、詞曲、書畫，擅長山水、花卉主題。
2.彭醇士（1896/1976-09-29）譜名康祺，後更名粹中，字醇士，號素庵，一號素翁，中國江西高安人。是詩人、書畫家也是政治人物，著有《照影集》。（文／高維志）

印記/簽名:1.款文：「空山上言漱菡弟弟文几」、「彭醇士製為寫」、「春山伴侶定山為漱菡女弟作」。
2.字帖有「定山」朱文用印一枚。
