Description:Created by Chu Yu-sheng after reading Chang Shu-han’s self-published poetry collection, He Hsiang Chi [“Lotus Fragrance”], this calligraphy artwork features the ten Chinese characters Hsiang Chung Pieh Yu Yun, Ching Chi Pu Chi Han [“There is a unique charm in the scent that makes one insensible to the wintry coldness”]. He Hsiang Chi was published in 1990, and from the dated signature in the margin, this work is estimated to have been completed on July 23, 1997. The inscription reads “Chu Yu-Sheng from Hejian City (Hebei Province) at Yehechai, south bank of Songhua River.” The calligrapher’s seal is affixed.

摘要:本件藏品為朱玉生讀張漱菡自費出版的舊體詩詞集《荷香集》之後有感，而寫下：「香中別有韵，清極不知寒」。落款處記「丁丑年大暑」，加上張漱菡《荷香集》出版年是1990年，推測本件藏品完成時間應為1997年7月23日。「河間朱氏玉生於松花江南岸野鶴齋」推測創作者為出身河北河間的朱玉生，並有鈐印。（文／高維志）

其他說明:1.朱玉生，1952年生。中國河北河間人。中國書法家協會會員，黑龍江書法家協會理事。
2.張漱菡（1929-12-16/2000-06-17），本名張欣禾，筆名寒柯，作家。創作包括古典詩、雜文、小說、傳記等，以長篇小說為代表，以長篇小說《意難忘》聞名，1990年出版舊體詩詞集《荷香集》。（文／高維志）
